The Adirondacks are unlike anywhere I’ve ever hiked. With 6 million acres of protected wilderness there’s seas of mountain views for miles one you reach a summit. There’s waterfalls, wildlife, and tons of trees and plants around every corner on the trails. After work on Thursday I decided to head up to Fort Ann. I hit Shelving Rock Falls while waiting for a friend meeting up with me for a sunset hike to Sleeping Beauty Mountain. This area is really nice because there’s so many trails for all skill levels. For instance Shelving Rock Falls is only 0.8 miles round trip! I’m so lucky to live so close to this blissful place. There’s plenty of campsites; I highly recommend a weekend in the summer and fall months! Definitely worth the trip.
