Baker Creek campground in Inyo National Forest is beautiful and fairly private.
The campground is literally right on the creek. My favorite places to camp are ones where you can wake up to the sound of water flowing, gives off such a peaceful vibe. There are not hook-ups for the RV so we were sure to fill up with water at a friends house prior to camping here for the week. The campground itself has a couple of small waterfalls if you walk along the creek, and a small hiking trail with a killer view of the surrounding area!
It is 15 minutes away from Big Pine Creek trailhead that features a pond with amazing mountain views, 2 waterfalls and glacier lakes. The lakes were still frozen so we opted out of hiking the 10 miles to them, and went the 2 miles to the waterfalls. We’ve been in the desert for quite some time now, I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was to find a trail with a beautiful cascade!!
